Inspired by the iconic Amsterdammertjes, the cast-iron street bollards found throughout Amsterdam, this object is a quiet tribute to a city that stays with you.

Whether Amsterdam is where you grew up, where you built memories, or simply a place that feels like home, this piece is designed as a subtle reminder of that connection. As an object that carries a sense of place wherever it lives.

Design
Rather than recreating every variation found throughout the city, I selected the proportions that I believe best capture the elegance and character of the original. Every dimension was carefully measured and translated into a scaled-down object that remains true to its source.

Its stepped surfaces celebrate the digital process behind its creation, while the ceramic body and concrete base ground the object in familiar materials. The result is an object that feels both contemporary and timeless.

Materials

• Slip-cast ceramic

• 3D-printed protective base

The ceramic is finished with a glossy glaze inspired by the characteristic deep red of Amsterdam's street bollards. The concrete base adds visual balance and weight while referencing the way the original bollards emerge from the pavement. A discreet 3D-printed base protects both the concrete and the surface beneath it from scratches.

Assembly
Place the ceramic object on the desired surface and carefully slide the concrete base over it until it rests flat. Rotate both parts until they align as intended

Clean gently with a soft cloth or brush. For a deeper clean, use mild soap and warm water. Dry with a microfiber cloth
